An intimate recording studio hidden among the palm fronds in Auckland's Grey Lynn, Montage Studio has been in operation since 1983. The studio owner Michael Donnelly, a musician himself, built the studio in the days when Grey Lynn was not as fashionable as it is today. The studio was very big in the sound of the pacific in the early years, and there was a time when you travelled to Tahiti or Rarotonga the sound that was on the radio was predominantly recorded at Montage.
The range of clientele has broadened in recent years with changes in technology; Montage is a fully professional studio offering a wide range of services for all musical projects. For example Rampant Media has used the studio for compiling their radio shows for quite a few years.
Montage is proud of it's range of equipment, from up to the minute Pro-tools 8 to some fine vintage pieces.
Montage uses a range of freelance engineers including Ana Hassel, Jol Mulholland, Nic Manders and Chris Winchcombe.
